Modular Helmet CGM 508G Dresda Matt Black/ Red (double visor)
Article information
The CGM 508 is a system helmet with a modern design. This helmet is equipped with an external visor with an enlarged field of vision, suitable for a PINLOCK visor, and has an integrated extra tinted inner visor. The CGM 508 also features a locking system with metal chin guard and a button to lock the chin guard in the raised position.
Polycarbonate shell
A polycarbonate outer shell is relatively cheap to produce, which makes the helmets affordable. The helmet is produced by using a mould where the material is poured and compressed. By using plasticizers, the plastic becomes elastic. Through exposure to UV-light and various weather conditions, these plasticisers deteriorate. This means that a polycarbonate helmet should be replaced after approximately 5 years.Front and/or rear ventilation system
The ventilation system consists of air inlets at the front and/or rear. Through air channels in the inner shell, the incoming air is guided through the helmet. In this way, the rider experiences a constant air flow which also guarantees a pleasant temperature inside the helmet.Long Visor with anti-scratch treatment
The visor can be damaged during use. The small scratches can reduce visibility on sunny days. The anti-scratch coating makes the visor less prone to damage. However, do not let sharp objects such as jewellery or keys come into contact with the visor. Because of the coating, the visor should only be cleaned with water and dish soap. Use of strong detergents can damage the coating.Large surface Visor
In order to have an even better view of the road, the visor is equipped with a larger surface. This gives the driver a better view of the traffic from the side. This enhances comfort and safety while riding.Integrated sun visor
The integrated sun visor is easy to use. By pulling the lever of the visor, the visor comes down. This way, you don't have to wear sunglasses on sunny days. The sun visor blocks most of the sun's rays and can be combined with sunglasses. When it gets too dark, you can easily pull the visor up again and use the transparent visor.Luxury inner lining
The inner lining is more luxurious compared to the standard lining. The lining is made of refined materials and has a luxurious look. The colours of the lining match the exterior of the helmet. The luxury lining can often be found on the more expensive helmets.Removable inner lining
The inner lining is attached to the inner shell by snaps or velcro. The removable inner lining can be washed with neutral soap. In this way, the lining remains in good quality and the helmet fresh. In addition to the inner lining, the cheek pads are also removable.Perforated inner lining
The ventilation system in the helmet ensures a constant air flow. Through the perforated inner lining, this air, which enters through the air channels, can also reach the skin. This way it always stays cool inside the helmet. In winter, the ventilation system can be closed so no air enters the helmet.Extra soft inner lining
By using softer materials compared to the standard lining, the helmet provides even more comfort. During a long ride, the soft lining is absolutely noticeable.Nose deflector
The nose deflector prevents warm air from blowing against the visor. This avoids condensation on the visor, which can reduce visibility. Alternatively, a Pinlock visor can be fitted on the helmet.Chin deflector
By using the chin deflector, the space under the chin is closed off. In this way the helmet will be more silent and the stability will be improved. A chin deflector is only possible in a system or full-face helmet.Micrometric buckle
The micrometric buckle is the most frequently used buckle on helmets and easy to use. The rattle buckle ensures that it can be adjusted to the correct position. The buckle is easily opened by pulling the red loop.Helmet graphics with scratch resistant varnish
Each helmet is carefully treated to achieve the right finish. After the helmet has been smoothed, it is sprayed in several layers of colour. Then the helmet is covered with water-based graphics. Finally, the helmet is covered with a transparent scratch-resistant lacquer.Quick release visor
With a quick release visor, the visor can be removed easily and quickly. No tools are needed. To remove the visor, 2 buttons must be pressed on both sides of the baseplate on the helmet.Average weight size M +/-1550gr
The weight of the helmet depends on the type of helmet. A jet-helmet is generally lighter than a system helmet. Glass fibre is also lighter than polycarbonate. The helmet is often measured in size M without visor. The second number on the sticker at the back of the helmet indicates the weight of the visor.Sizes XS-S-M-L-XL-XXL
The size of the helmet is determined by the number of centimeters of head circumference. The size is measured with a measuring tape above the ears along the widest part of the head. The number of centimeters determines the size. The sizes are however an indication. This is no guarantee that the helmet will fit. Check per brand how the size is calculated.Click here to determine your helmet size.
Pinlock prepared
If a visor is prepared for Pinlock, you can recognize this by special pins on the side of the visor. Between these pins an extra visor can be placed which prevents the visor from fogging up. When it is cold outside and warm inside the helmet, condensation can appear. The Pinlock visor ensures that vision is maintained. The Pinlock visor can be left on when the helmet is not in use.Titling visor fastening system
The tilting fastening system presses the visor even more firmly against the rubber rim of the helmet. In this way, the visor closes optimally. This will not only prevent the cold but also makes the helmet more silent. It is important to lubricate the rubber edge with a little silicone to prevent it from dehydrating.P/J certification
All helmets have an approval label. This label contains a series of numbers starting with a letter, followed by a number of digits. The letters consist of J, P or NP. The J stands for Jet Helmet, P, for Protected and NP for Not Protected. With the letters NP on the inspection label, you have an unapproved helmet. This means that you are not insured in case of an accident.Specifications
